In August 2021, while spending time in the presence of God, Founder Rebekah Dawson had an encounter with Jesus in which He spoke to her that she should take over and lead the women’s bible study group at her local church.  As she submitted to the Lord’s instruction, she spoke with the other leaders at the church who agreed and things began to move forward. The Lord began to speak to her about a new name and charge for the women’s group which was “Girls on Fire”. Shortly after that, the Holy Spirit began to “download” the creative idea for the logo design and birth a passionate vision in her heart for the ministry. On September 15th, 2021, Girls on Fire officially began. After 1 year, what started as a simple bible study group began to transition into a powerful prayer group. The power of God was evident and the presence of God tangible. Week after week, women were being encountered by the Holy Spirit. Healings and deliverances were taking place and many testified of long-awaited answers to prayers and breakthroughs.  As the ministry began to thrive, Rebekah was also growing in her own spiritual journey and pursuing her calling in God. Therefore, Girls on Fire relaunched on February 7th, 2024 as a para ministry. At that point, Girls on Fire met primarily virtually as a small group with occasional in-person gatherings.  Now, God has expanded Girls on Fire’s reach to women all over the world through its online ministry and events, inviting them into a community and move of God on the earth to raise up women set apart, who want the “more” of God and to live and walk in the full, Holy Spirit-powered life He calls them to!
